Research Abstract

本研究は、日本に在住する外国人の第二言語習得を「学習者セオリー」という視点からとらえ、その特徴と形成過程を記述し、第二言語環境における第二言語習得過程との関係を明らかにすることをねらいとする。ライフストーリー・インタビューの手法を用い、対象となる日本語学習者の第二言語習得履歴とその学習者セオリーを総合的に記述し、相互の関係を明らかにするとともに、その形成過程に考察を加える。また、可能な限り言語運用データも合わせて収集・分析し、これらを総合して第二言語習得との関係について考察したい。本研究の独創性は、第二言語習得と学習者セオリーの関係を焦点化し、ライフストーリー・インタビューの手法を用いている点にある。
平成19年度には先行研究のレビューとパイロット調査を行い、方法論を精緻化した。平成20年度は、精緻化した方法に基づき、第二言語習得環境で学んでいる日本語学習者と日本人学習者を対象に、インタビュー調査を実施した。また日本語支援を行うボランティアのデータも合わせて収集した。データは録音・文字化・電子化し、その一部を、質的手法を用いた初期的分析にかけ、成果を学会で発表した。また、同分析に基づいて、調査項目に検討を加えるとともに、学習者の言語運用についてのデータも収集した。学習者が「母語と異なる(適切に振舞うのが難しい)」と強く意識している言語行動について、具体的な場面を設定し、データを収集し、フォローアップインタビューによって行動の意図、自己評価のデータも合わせて収集した。平成21年度は、さらにインタビューデータを収集するとともに、以上のデータに分析を加え、その結果を論文と口頭発表によって発表した。
