| Research Abstract |
本研究は、日本の国家形成期(主に5世紀)における対外交流の実態を、渡来系文物の検討を通じて把握しようとする試みである。奈良県五条猫塚古墳は、蒙古鉢形冑をはじめとする大陸系の金工技術が駆使された副葬品を豊富に含む古墳として有名であり、この整理・分析作業から5世紀に奈良南部に居住した技術集団の系譜、および他地域との接点等の解明を目指した。1500点を越える鉄製品や金銅製品の実測図やX線・カラー写真、出土品データベース等を作成し、そこに用いられた渡来系の最新技術を確認、製作工程の復元的把握等を行い、その広がりについて検討を重ねた。
