Research Abstract |
There are many Japanese keyhole-shaped mounded tombs (Zenpoukouenhun) in the Kyushu region as well as the Kinki region. In the beginning I made the GIS database of Zenpoukouenhuns in both areas. I researched the distribution of the Zenpoukouenhuns in both areas by using the database. As a result, I obtained the following results for this research. The great divergence must be seen by the transition of the ratio of large-scale Zenpoukouenhuns in both regions according to time. There are great divergence between the distribution of Sankakubuchi-shinjukyos (a kind of bronze mirror which was buried together with a dead body of lord) and Gamontai-shinjukyos (a kind of bronze mirror which was buried together with a dead body of lord) that are typical prestige goods according to time in both regions, and the distribution of the latter tends to concentrate on the central portion in the Kinki. The hierarchy of the Zenpoukouenhuns shall not be regionally the same in the Kyushu region as a result of examining them according to the scale and time. This research found a lot of interesting events for the distribution of the Zenpoukouenhuns in the Kyushu region and the Kinki region.
