Research Abstract |
My research has focused on a relationship between economic growth and income inequality in a context of population aging and the related policies. First, the relationship is analyzed when the government uses progressive taxation as a device to correct income inequality. Second, I analyze a public pension scheme which is politically supportable among voters who differ in work history. Third, I present an answer of why old-age support should be in-kind. Finally, I analyze under what condition population aging promote economic growth.
