Research Abstract

人間は空間関係を二つのやり方で処理する。ひとつは「AはBの上にある」のような「カテゴリカルな処理」、もうひとつは「AとBは5cm離れている」のような「コーディネイト処理」である。われわれは、前者の処理では注意の範囲を狭くした方が課題成績がよく、後者の処理では逆に注意の範囲を広くしたほうが成績がよいと理論的に予測した。いくつかの実験の結果、予測が正しいことが示された。この問題は大脳左右半球の機能差の理解や、物体や顔の認識に関して重要な意味を持つ。この他にも、これと関連する多くの新しいテーマの研究を大学院生とともに行った。
