Research Abstract

本研究提案では発達期の視体験が視覚野の方位選択性マップの構造と機能に及ぼす影響と動物の行動との関係を調べ、物体の認識における大脳皮質視覚野の方位選択性マップの働きを解明することを目的とする。視体験制限メガネを用いて、発達期の動物の視体験を制限することにより、正常な方位選択性及び、眼優位性の発達を妨げ、これらの機能マップの成熟に重要な影響を及ぼすことが示唆された。また、正常な方位選択性マップの発達が妨げられた動物には、その機能を代償するメカニズムがあることが示唆された。
