Research Abstract

原子炉ニュートリノ振動実験DCHOOZで標的として使用するGd入り液体シンチレータの構成は、80% C12H26+20% PXE+0.1% Gd+PPO(6g/l)+Bis-MSB(20mg/l)とした(PXEベースと呼ぶ)。次に、原子炉ニュートリノ反応のバックグラウンドとなる、外部から進入する高速中性子とニュートリノ反応を弁別する方法として、信号波形での弁別法の開発を行った。その結果、BC501-Aの場合、明らかに信号波形が異なり弁別が可能であり、PXEベースの場合は、明らかな差はないが信号波形に異なる部分が見られ、弁別の可能性があることが分かった。
