Research Abstract |
Basic performances were measured for the newly developed large aperture Electron Bombardment CCD(EBCCD). Its gain shows good linearity as a function of applied high voltage up to -12kV, where the gain is 2400. The spatial resolution was 250μm, and the linearity between the input and output was very good and better than that of an Image Intensifier Tube(IIT) which is the same kind of photosensor as an EBCCD. Cosmic rays were detected by this EBCCD with a plastic scintillator, which shows a practical use of this EBCCD in particle physics experiments.
