Research Abstract

ニュートリノの基本性質追及や質量探索のために二重ベータ崩壊実験を継続的に行っている(NEMO3,SuperNEMO計画)が,その実験の主要雑音源としてウラン系列、トリウム系列に属する極微量ラドン・トロン娘核同定および除去が最終的に重要になる。二重ベータ崩壊の本体検出器の性能向上に向けての作業のために、その存在量を本体検出器以外のできるだけ簡単な方法で感度よくモニターする必要がある。このモニター検出器は今まで容器と電場が一体であったため、容器の素材等に金属材料を使用する必要があるなどの制約があり大型化などの性能向上が難しかったのであるが、本研究成果により、容器と電場を分離しても同様に動作することを調べる基礎的研究がなされたので、大型化や自由な形状選択が可能になり約10倍程度高性能(1mBq/m^3から0.1mBq/m^3へ)の高感度検出器作成の可能性を明らかにした。
