Research Abstract

量子常誘電体(SrTiO_3とKTaO_3)の量子常誘電状態は、母体は正方晶の対称性を持つ常誘電相であるが、その母体中に、動的に強誘電相領域(FER : おそらく斜方晶)が島状に浮かんでいる状態である。そして、FERの大きさが量子常誘電状態を特徴づける長さのスケールを決めていると結論した。さらにSrTiO_3では、この長さのスケールには異方性があり、[001]_c方向が[1-10]_c方向より長いということが判明した。これまで、量子常誘電状態で観測されている格子定数の異常などの起源は強誘電相領域の存在にあると推論できる。
