| Research Abstract |
3枚のCuO_2面(n=3)を持つ銅酸化物高温超伝導物質Bi_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_<10+δ>(Bi-2223)は、CuO_2面の多層化に伴う高温超伝導体の超伝導転移温度Tcの向上の要因を探る上で格好の材料である。本研究では、この物質の大型で高品質な単結晶を育成することに見通しを得た。また、高温超伝導理論の最大の争点である擬ギャップ(常伝導状態で低エネルギーの状態密度が減少する現象)の起源について、超伝導とは競合するなんらかの秩序形成を意味する可能性を、磁場中のc軸抵抗率の測定から実験的に明らかにした。
