| Research Abstract |
二光子吸収断面積のための種々の理論的表式を厳密に精査し、これまで混乱のあった表式間の違いの要因を明らかにすることができた。また種々の量子化学的な近似手法の二光子吸収断面積計算への適用可能性を調べた。さらにπ共役が一次元的、及び二次元的に広がった分子系の二光子吸収特性の理論計算を通して、典型的な分子系の各々について分子構造と二光子吸収特性との関係を明らかにすることができた。特に二次元的に広がった非中心対称的な分子系の二光子吸収において、多光子過程に特徴的な負の干渉効果による得意な現象を観測することができた。
