Research Abstract

材料として需要度の高い鋼類の超精密切削にはダイヤモンド工具一般に適さないとされる。一方、断続切削となる超音波楕円振動切削では鏡面切削が可能で、工具摩耗が抑制されるという結果を背景に、断続切削で平面加工が可能なフライカット方式と微小曲面創成が可能な高速主軸を用いたマイクロ・ダイヤモンド・エンドミルによる超精密切削法の可能性を検討し、実用的な金型鋼の鏡面切削が可能であることを明らかにしている。
