Research Abstract

温度上昇に伴い熱収縮する"負の熱膨張"を示す物質に共通する特徴を見出すために, 様々な負の熱膨張物質の原子の協同的な振動に由来する格子振動を検討した, その結果, 負の熱膨張物質に共通する三つの格子振動の特徴を明らかにすることに成功した. その三つの格子振動の特徴は, 物質の化学的・結晶構造的特徴と密接に関係することが明らかとなった. この研究成果により, 新しい負の熱膨張物質を創造する基礎を与えることができた.
