Research Abstract

生物の発生過程においては、同じ遺伝子経路が、胚体のいろいろな部位で異なった組織の形成に関与している。ゼブラフィッシュの神経系においては、Cdx-後方Hox遺伝子経路によって後方脊髄が作られる。また、Cdx遺伝子の発現しない前方領域においては、前方Hox遺伝子が菱脳を形成する。この過程において、FgfシグナルがCdx遺伝子の転写活性を制御して組織のシグナル伝達物質に対する応答性を変更していることが明らかとなった。
