Research Abstract

ヒストンの脱アセチル化酵素(HDAC)が細胞内での活性制御機構の解明は、生物学的に重要な問題であると同時に有効なHDAC阻害剤開発にも必要である。我々は、ヒトHDAC1と相同性の高い出芽酵母のRpd3が標的遺伝子の活性化時に広く阻害を受けることを見出した。酵母ゲノムライブラリーからこの阻害に働く遺伝子をスクリーニングし、2種の遺伝子がこの活性を持つことを明らかにできた。
