| Research Abstract |
沿岸海域に生息する鯨類スナメリが本来どのような環境を好むのかを表す生息適地モデルの開発を行った. 本種の分布は地形的要因(水深, 底質, 離岸距離)に強く影響されていることが定量的に再確認された. 瀬戸内海東部の低密度を説明しうる要因として, 漁網への混獲, 船舶との衝突を指摘した. 東京湾は, 生息に好適な自然環境を有しているにも関わらず, 2008年の220kmの目視行から発見はなく, 極めて低密度であることが分かった.
