Research Abstract

セロビオースを牛の飼料の2%添加した結果、乾物、繊維、粗タンパク質の消化率は約10%高まった.また、ルーメン液の揮発性脂肪酸(VFA)濃度は高まり、VFAの中で酢酸の比率が高まり、プロピオン酸の比率は低下した.さらに、セロビオース添加により、細胞壁炭水化物組成やリグニンの変化は顕著ではなかったので、消化率の向上はルーメン微生物による植物組織の非選択的な分解に基づくものと考えられた.次に、牛の飼料にフマル酸を2%添加し、ルーメンからのメタン生成などに及ぼす影響を検討した結果、添加により、ルーメン液のアンモニア-N濃度は低下し、プロトゾア数も減少した.VFAの中でプロピオン酸の比率は増加し、メタン生成量は10~20%低下した.飼料の消化に及ぼすフマル酸の影響は認められなかった.また、乳牛を用いてセロオリゴ糖の飼料添加(2%)が牛乳生産に及ぼす影響を検討した.添加によりメタン生成は変化しなかった.乳量、乳成分にもセロオリゴ糖添加の影響は認められなかった.セロビオースは飼料の消化には促進効果があるが、メタン生成と牛乳生産には顕著な影響を及ぼさないと考察された.
