Research Abstract

本研究はニワトリ筋ジストロフィーの原因遺伝子を同定し、この疾患の発症機構を明らかにすることが目的である。候補領域内に存在する7遺伝子に対して、翻訳領域の塩基配列を疾患個体と正常個体で比較検討した結果、WWP1遺伝子に観察されたG1321A置換はアミノ酸をアルギニンからグルタミンに置換するものであった。これらの結果から、WWP1遺伝子がニワトリ筋ジストロフィーの最有力原因候補遺伝子であることが示唆された。
