Research Abstract

頚動脈小体は主細胞と支持細胞から成っており、哺乳動物では舌咽神経・頚動脈洞枝(知覚性)と交感神経の枝を豊富に受けている。頚動脈小体原基は野生型マウスで胎生13.5日令(E13.5)に第3鰓弓動脈壁に生じるが、Hoxa3-/-マウスでは第3鰓弓動脈がE 11.5で退化するため、原基は形成されない。Mash1-/-マウスで頚動脈小体原基は正常に形成され、また舌咽神経・頚動脈洞枝も豊富に分布しているが、交感神経節が欠損するため交感神経上頚神経節由来の主細胞前駆細胞が形成されず、頚動脈小体は支持細胞のみから成っている。FRS2a^<2F/2F>マウスでは、舌咽神経が第3鰓弓動脈壁に分布できず、頚動脈小体原基は形成されなかった。すなわち頚動脈小体原基形成には第3鰓弓動脈、交感神経上頚神経節および舌咽神経・頚動脈洞枝の三要素が必須であることを明示した。
