Research Abstract |
ES細胞の分化や未分化状態に関与する遺伝子は、生体における発生・分化過程の理解にも有用と考えられ、未分化ES細胞に特異的に発現する遺伝子を単離しCes5と名付けた。作製したノックアウトマウスの雌の不妊を認め、新規なmaternal effect遺伝子と考えられた。電子顕微鏡を用いた解析結果より、Ces5は卵の細胞質内の繊維状構造物の構築に関与し、構造体の成分あるいは構築に必須の蛋白であり、初期胚の発生に重要な役割を持つことが示唆された
