| Research Abstract |
有鉤嚢虫システインプロテアーゼ(=カテプシンL)の機能解析の一環として、細胞内局在性を明らかにした。嚢虫カテプシンLに対するペプチドカクテル抗体を作成し、それを用いて嚢虫組織in situにおけるカテプシンLの局在を免疫組織化学的に解析した。その結果、カテプシンLは吸盤を構成する筋細胞内と嚢胞壁(体表面)に局在していることが明らかになり、腸管を欠く嚢虫では嚢虫の体表面、あるいは体表面から分泌されて宿主タンパク質分解に関与しているとともに嚢虫寄生による病態との関連性が示唆された。
