Research Abstract |
本研究では、自然免疫担当細胞であるマクロファージ(MФ)が産生する新規アポトーシス抑制因子(AIM)を欠損するマウスを用い、マラリア原虫感染におけるNKT細胞及びγδT細胞の活性化機能制御とMФの関係を明らかにし、新しい視点での感染防御機構だけでなく病態形成の機序について検討を加えた。その結果、マラリア感染症においては、MФ の機能としての貪食作用による病原体の排除やそれに伴う炎症反応の惹起にAIM が深く関与しており、その機能制御が予防・治療に有効である可能性が示唆された。
