Research Abstract

我々は胃粘膜増殖因子Regが胃粘膜組織の発生、形態形成に重要な役割を果たす事を報告してきた。このような研究は将来発展すると思われる消化管再生医療の礎となる。一方、生物の組織の形が決まる過程で、morphogenと称される分子の組織中での濃度の勾配が重要で、この濃度の違いによって各々の位置における細胞の性質が変わり、結果として生物の形が決定されるという機構がハエの研究などで知られている。我々はRegが胃粘膜腺においてこのような濃度勾配を形成し、morphogenとして働くと考えた。本研究では胃粘膜組織に模した培養細胞系を構築し、Regにこのような性質があり、糖転移酵素EXTL3がこれを助けることを証明した。
