Research Abstract |
糖尿病性腎症による腎不全・透析患者数は増加の一途にある。現行の治療法では、腎不全への進展をわずかに遅延させるのみである。より病態に基づいた効果的な腎症治療法の開発が必要である。そのため、腎糸球体硬化の形成に中心的な役割を果たす転写因子Smad1の活性化に関わり、糸球体硬化進行過程の病態を形成する2つの経路の調節機構をマウスを用いて解析した。その上で、糸球体硬化症の進展を追跡できる血中・尿中のバイオマーカーの選定を行った。
