Research Abstract

研究成果の概要:遺伝性筋萎縮性側索硬化症(ALS)のモデルである変異SOD1マウスの疾患進行期の脊髄病巣のグリア細胞で異常発現している分子を網羅的に解析し、疾患進行期の2種のALSモデルマウスに共通する約200の異常発現遺伝子を同定した。細胞群特異的なトランスクリプトームを用いた解析によりそのうち約70%がミクログリアに主に発現する遺伝子であることが判明した。また、細胞群特異的に変異SOD1を除去できるモデルマウスを用いてアストロサイトがALSの疾患進行を規定する細胞群であることを示した。
