Research Abstract

我々は、膵発生とβ細胞機能を制御する遺伝子PDX1の発現調節機構を明らかにすべく、先行研究において、PDX1遺伝子5'上流に種をこえて保存されたエンハンサー領域(AreaI-II-III)を同定した。本研究では、この領域の膵内分泌細胞分化における意義を明らかにするため、この領域を膵分泌前駆細胞のみにおいて欠損するマウスを作製し、その解析をすすめた。この領域は内分泌前駆細胞からβ細胞分化に必要であることが現在、明らかになりつつある。
