Research Abstract

血液細胞の分化は不可逆的であり、細胞系列の運命付けにより、他の細胞系列への分化能力を恒久的に失う。この運命付けの分子基盤の研究を進めた結果、従来、転写活性化を担うとされてきた転写因子が、DNAメチル化などのエピジェネティック修飾を制御することにより不可逆的な遺伝子発現変化を誘導していることが明らかとなった。このことから、細胞分化の不可逆性の分子基盤には、転写因子によるエピジェネティック修飾の制御が関与しているものと考えられた。
