Research Abstract

白血病細胞の発症に、アポトーシス(プログラムされた細胞死)の抑制が関与している可能性について検討を進めてきた。その結果、白血病細胞で認められる染色体異常のうち17 番染色体と19番染色体の相互転座(それぞれの染色体が途中で切断されて、入れ替わって再結合する変化)によって形成される異常遺伝子が、放射線照射によって誘導されるアポトーシスをコントロールする遺伝子に影響してアポトーシスを抑制する可能性を明らかにした。
