Research Abstract |
We investigated whether Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation is feasible for Japanese women with relatively small breasts. At first, we simulated APBI planning for some patterns of breasts. However, they were not satisfactory to us. Therefore, we tried to simulate prone APBI in order to improve the dose distribution. Patient positioning are difficult in prone position, so we designed dedicated positioning tables by ourselves for stabilization of patients set-up. In our investigation, feasibility of APBI for Japanese women may be wider in use of prone position with dedicated treatment table.
