Research Abstract |
Multivariate analysis identified positive lymph node metastasis, low total cholesterol level, a small number of lymphocytes, positive venous invasion, and elevated serum CA19-9 level as independent prognostic factors in curatively resected gastric cancer patients. It should be considered to administer anti-cancer drugs in such cases. In addition, it may be useful to evaluate enzyme activity regarding 5-FU metabolism in predicting the effect of anticancer drugs and prognosis of gastric cancer patient.
