Research Abstract |
Skin-derived stem cells transplanted into cerebral ischemia in mice had survived, however, they didn't migrated into all the ischemic area and didn't contribute the recovery from ischemic damage. These cells transplanted into injured hypoglossal nerve in mice also had survived and differentiated into Schwann-like cells. These Schwann-like cells didn't contribute axonal regeneration and the recovery from myelin-deficient peripheral nerve. These cells transplanted into injured sciatic nerve in myelin-deficient mice didn't survived. Skin-derived stem cells survive and differentiate under limited condition.
