| Research Abstract |
ウシ椎間板髄核でAGEs、RAGEの存在が確認され、そのRAGEは、AGEs-RAGE complexにおける受容体としての機能を持ったRAGEであることが確認された。IL-1βの刺激により、機能のあるRAGEの発現が増加し、炎症によるRAGEの発現の増加がAGEs-RAGE complexを活性化させることにより、椎間板の変性が加速する可能性が示唆され、病的な椎間板変性と関連がある可能性が考えられた。
