Research Abstract

マウス間葉系幹細胞であるC3H10T1/2細胞が骨芽細胞へ分化する条件の下, 細胞を4-tert-オクチルフェノール (OP)を含む培養液中で培養すると骨芽細胞への分化が阻害された。このOPによって骨芽細胞への分化が阻害された細胞の多くが脂肪細胞に分化した。このようにOPは間葉系幹細胞の分化の方向性に影響を及ぼすということが明らかになった。妊娠期間から授乳期間にかけて母マウスにOPを含む水を自由摂取させると, 生まれてきた雌性マウスの大腿骨骨幹部の横径成長が阻害されることが明らかになった。
