Research Abstract |
We evaluated the expression of mRNA and protein of Protease-activated receptor (PAR) as thrombin receptor in renal epithelial cells, and whether or not oxalate initiate signal transduction via this pathway. Gene and protein expression was clearly shown in HK-2 cells, which originated human tubular epithelium by PCR and Western blotting. Oxalate exposure caused up-regulation of intra-cellular calcium ion and Interleukin 6 production.
