Research Abstract

精子を卵子に直接注入する卵細胞質内精子注入法(ICSI)で作製したマウス受精卵では染色体の構造異常率が増加するが、精子の細胞膜から予めコレステロールを除去しておくと異常率の増加を抑えられることが明らかになった。一方、強制的に先体反応を誘起した精子を使用した場合には異常率の増加を抑制できなかった。以上の結果は、精子細胞膜のコレステロールがICSI受精卵における構造的染色体異常の原因の1つであることを示唆する。
