Research Abstract	プロスタグランジンの合成酵素であるシクロオキシゲナーゼ-2(COX-2)が阻害されることによって、骨折の治癒が著しく抑制されることが知られている。しかし、これは足の骨治癒過程を検討しており、それとは治癒過程の機序が異なる顎や顔面の骨治癒は不明である。そこで、我々はCOX-2 遺伝子を欠損したマウスを用いて、頭蓋骨での骨治癒過程を検討したところ、顎や顔面の骨治癒過程においてもCOX-2が重要であることが分かった。
