Research Abstract

セメント芽細胞においてcanonical Wntシグナルが機能的に作動していることを明らかにした。Wnt3aで刺激したところ、アルカリフォスファターゼ、 骨シアロ蛋白、そして オステオカルシン遺伝子の発現が抑制された。さらに、Wnt3aは細胞サイクルの調節因子であるCyclin D1遺伝子の発現を誘導するとともに、細胞増殖活性を亢進した。以上の知見からWntシグナルはセメント芽細胞の分化を抑制し、そして増殖反応を亢進することが示唆された。
