Research Abstract

齲蝕細菌Streptococcus mutans の耐酸性がジアシルグリセロールキナーゼ(DGK)のキナーゼ活性と密接に関わっていることが明らかになった。S. mutans 野生株とdgk変異株を用いて動物実験を行ったところ、DGK の変異は平滑面齲蝕の発生を著しく低下させ、DGK が本菌のう蝕原性に重要な役割を果たしていることが確認された。加えて、Diacylglycerolkinase inhibitor II が本菌の耐酸性を阻害することが明らかとなり、齲蝕予防剤としての有効性が示唆された。
