Research Abstract

莢膜糖鎖を有する感染性細菌は免疫応答から逃れることにより病原性を発揮する特徴を有する。高齢者の死因トップである肺炎の最大原因菌である肺炎球菌は特徴的な莢膜糖鎖を有しており、宿主の加齢ともに弱った免疫応答から逃れ肺炎を引き起こす。そこで本研究はワクチンの改良法として臨床に還元できる知見を得ることを目的として、糖鎖ワクチン投与による免疫応答のマウスにおける詳細な解析を行った。
