| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Mn酸化物の低温における反射スペクトルの時間変化を測定したところ、反射光強度が時間とともに非常にゆっくり振動していることが判明した。この現象の起源を解明する目的で研究を行った。半導体や金属では異常な振動が見られないことを確認したが、様々な条件で測定を行った結果、この異常な振動は強相関系物質の本質ではなく, 光を反射する表面層が生じたことが原因と思われる. ただし, 同じ条件下で半導体や金属では見られないことから, 表面に特殊な層が生じるのは, 強相関系の物質に限られると推定される。
