Research Abstract

本研究では、イネいもち病菌の非病原力遺伝子座として知られるAvrCo39における非病力遺伝子産物の同定を目的としている。AvrCo39座に存在する小さな4つのORFおよびステムループ様のRNA分子を転写可能な領域を候補として、点突然変異体を作製し、それらの変異遺伝子を導入したいもち病菌の病原性を検定することにより、AvrCo39における非病力遺伝子産物の同定を試みた。
これらの4つのORFおよびステムループRNAの点突然変異体を持つAvrCo39遺伝子を導入したいもち病菌を、抵抗性遺伝子Co39を保有するイネ品種に接種し、その病原性の変異を検定した。その結果、ORF3の変異体では、強い病原性を示すようになり、同遺伝子がAvrCo39の非病力遺伝子産物と同定できた。当初の予想した非病原力RNAの発見には至らなかったが、非病原性産物の同定ができた意義は大きいと考えている。
