Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、遺伝暗号表の起源と進化可能性について、構成的アプローチによる翻訳システムの改変によって20種類よりも少ないアミノ酸のみを含む「単純化遺伝暗号表」を構築し、さらに、タンパク質人工進化の実験によって追求することにある。本研究によって実際に種々の単純化遺伝暗号を構築し、アミノ酸の種類が限定されても、野生型以上の活性をもつ蛍光タンパク質などの変異体が創出できた。
