Research Abstract

マイクロマシンや磁気ディスク装置などのマイクロナノ機構において, ナノ厚さの液体高分子潤滑膜を介した相対運動を精確かつ安定に実現するために, フォトマスクを介した紫外線(UV)照射を利用して, 潤滑膜に微細なパターンを形成することにより潤滑特性を制御する方法を提案した. パターニング法として, 固体表面にUV照射したのちに, 潤滑膜を塗布する方法を新たに提案し, その有効性をシリコン表面と磁気ディスク表面において確認した. また, 分子動力学シミュレーションにより, パターンの形成は, 照射領域における固体表面と潤滑剤分子との極性相互作用の増加に伴う分子密度の増加に起因することを見出した. さらに, 原子間力顕微鏡を用いたフォースカーブ測定により, UV照射時間の増加とともに, 凝着力が増加するが, 測定プローブと試料間の潤滑膜液架橋が形成されにくくなることを明らかにした.
