Research Abstract

雪の結晶はどれをとっても美しい形をしているが、その形は千差万別で、全く同じ形のものは存在しないといわれている。Packardが定義した六角格子上の2次元セルオートマトンを拡張し、六方晶上の3次元セルオートマトンを新たに定義した。このモデルを用いて、従来のモデルでは生成できなかった角柱,針といった立体的な構造を持つ雪の結晶の類似パターンの生成を行った。
