| Research Abstract |
本研究では,行動と脳科学の融合的手法を用い,カラスの高い知性を支える個体認知のメカニズム解明を試みた。行動研究では,カラスの視・聴覚,双方における個体認知を見出した。脳解剖学研究では,カラス脳地図を作成し,脳の全容を世界で初めて描出した。他個体との対面時に活性化する脳部位を同定し,外套-海馬-中隔系が関与していること見出した。この成果は,霊長類とは独立に進化した鳥の知性について,行動・脳の融合的理解への足がかりとなる。
