Research Abstract

哺乳類の大脳皮質は6層構造から成り、各層のニューロンはそれぞれ異なった性質を持つ。しかしながら、どのように各層のニューロンが形成されるかについては未解明な部分が多い。本研究では、接着分子の一つであるProtocadherin20が大脳皮質第IV層の形成に重要な役割を果たしていることを見出した。すなわち、この分子が皮質第IV層細胞の配置および分化を制御することを明らかにした。
