Research Abstract

本研究では、戦後から現在まで日本人によって行われているアジア・太平洋戦争の旧戦地における遺骨収集・慰霊巡拝という行為に焦点を当て、インタビューや資料収集を通して、その概要を明らかにした。具体的には、戦死者の亡くなった瞬間と彼が置かれた戦没地からの時間的・空間的隔たりが、霊をはじめとする死者へのイメージや想いを喚起し、遺骨収集・慰霊巡拝という実践を促していることを明らかにした。
