2007・08年度の2年間にわたり、柳宗悦の朝鮮における活動およびその背景となった思想について、関連する人々(特に朝鮮人)と関連付けて、当時の新聞雑誌記事や回顧録・自伝的資料を日韓両国にわたって調査・収集・整理・分析を行った。
