Research Abstract

金属欠乏星とは、宇宙初期に誕生したと考えられる銀河系形成初期の情報を内包する基本的な天体である。本研究は、元素の起源や銀河系の星形成史を探る基盤を構築するために、観測された金属欠乏星の観測データをデータベース化し、公開することを目標としてきた。本データベースはWeb 上で公開され(SAGA database:http://saga.sci.hokudai.ac.jp/)、理論モデルと観測との比較が容易にできる環境が整った。また、本データベースを利用し、恒星進化の理論モデルと観測データを比較することによって、恒星内部における元素合成や混合機構に制限を与えるための手がかりを得た。
